You are able to claim up to £55 weekly or £243 monthly made as a salary sacrifice, deducted from your ‘Gross’ earnings before we calculate any tax and national insurance. If the full £243 per month allowance is used then a basic rate taxpayer would expect to receive relief of £1,365 a year! Vouchers are provided at the face value of your deduction and used to pay for childcare.
The definition of childcare is broad, and covers nurseries, childminders, even out of school activities for older children.
